Read MoreThe Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company and the Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company responded to a chimney fire at 53 Main Street in Walkersville shortly before 5:00 p.m. this afternoon. Black billows of smoke poured from the chimney of the house and flames were visible. The apparatus responding blocked Main Street and parts of Five Corners. Junior Fire Company also responded to the call. Firefighters fought the fire from the roof and within the home. The fire was extinguished quickly.
