Sandstone Drive Traffic Pattern Change

Starting Monday, November 22, 2021, vehicles traveling on Sandstone Drive will no longer be able to turn left on to MD 194. New signage and road striping will be added. Temporary billboard signs will also be in the area to alert drivers of the change. The Town of of Walkersville’s Planning Commission made the traffic changes a requirement of Dollar General’s site plan approval. Dollar General’s contractors will be making these changes over the next few days.

Walkersville Bulk Trash November 20th

Bulk trash pickup will occur next Saturday, November 20, 2021 for in-town residents only. Bulk trash may be set out in front of your home starting Thursday evening. Please do not place any items listed on the unacceptable list below. For clarification, residents may only set out one mattress and box spring set. Multiple mattresses or box springs will not be picked up. The Walkersville Planning Commission will continue updating the Town’s Comprehensive Plan at its meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public and livestreamed on the Town’s website, https://walkersvillemd.gov/.
