Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Walkersville

Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred early this afternoon in Frederick County. Shortly after 12 p.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack responded to Woodsboro Pike (Route 194) at W. Frederick Street in Walkersville, Maryland for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Sandstone Drive Traffic Pattern Change

Starting Monday, November 22, 2021, vehicles traveling on Sandstone Drive will no longer be able to turn left on to MD 194. New signage and road striping will be added. Temporary billboard signs will also be in the area to alert drivers of the change. The Town of of Walkersville’s Planning Commission made the traffic changes a requirement of Dollar General’s site plan approval. Dollar General’s contractors will be making these changes over the next few days.
