Charles Edward “Doc” Brown

Charles Edward “Doc” Brown, age 76, of Woodsboro, died Monday, August 5, 2019 at his residence. Born March 23, 1943 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Theodore and Wilma Harsher Brown. He was the husband of Kathleen E. Brown, his wife of 27 years. “Doc” served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lowry (DD-770) during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On Thursday, August 8th, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting its annual Open House event at the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center, located at 110 Airport Drive East in Frederick. Glade Valley Food Bank Needs Your Support

The Glade Valley Food Bank seeks the community’s support as donations are down in the summer months. Items most urgently needed are peanut butter and tuna; these shelves are bare.    Other places where the shelves are starting to look empty include macaroni and cheese, Hamburger Helper, canned fruit, boxed potatoes (mashed, scalloped, etc.), soup, canned peas, cereal, spaghetti/pasta, spaghetti sauce, baked beans.  Your donations can be left in the outdoor blue and gold donation box near the rear of Walkersville Town Hall.  Or you can donate items through your church.…

Mr. John William “Jack” Bell, 82, longtime Walkersville farmer, died peacefully Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Kline Hospice House.
