Independence Day Holiday Means Extra Safety Efforts for State Police

With extra traffic expected in the days before and after the Fourth of July which falls on a Thursday this year making a four-day weekend for some, additional Maryland state troopers will be on patrol, using a variety of initiatives to keep traffic moving, respond quickly to highway incidents and take appropriate enforcement action when violations are observed that threaten the safety of travelers. Investigation Continuing Into Fatal Crash

Maryland state troopers are continuing their investigation into a Frederick County crash this afternoon that resulted in the death of one driver, injuries to another driver and passenger, and the subsequent death of a county firefighter who was assisting at the scene. The deceased driver involved in the crash is identified as Kevin N. Tevelow, 22, of New Windsor, Md. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The injured driver is identified as Ricky H.
