Monday evening proved to be a good night for Walkersville High School’s athletics department. The Lions needed some joy after a string of losses last week including losing a hard fought football game Friday night against the Knights. Last week, the Lions’ Golf team stood out by providing a win against Frederick 183 – 207. The Boys Soccer team had a mixed week with one loss and one win. The Walkersville Lions’ Varsity Football made it 3 and 0 Friday night against Catoctin. Brad Wolfe’s interception in the end zone in the final two minutes of play helped keep the team’s lead over Catoctin. The Lions made the only scoring drive in the first half. Chad Gleason, running back, scored first in the second quarter for a 65-yard touchdown run.
