The spot had been held by the owner of Ginger & Spice which closed its store on Pennsylvania Avenue in town last year. The mission of the EDC is to promote business, economic development, services, and working within the Town of Walkersville. The Burgess and Town Commissioners of Walkersville will meet on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in the Walkersville Town Hall’s meeting room. A brief agenda includes two items. The Burgess and Commissioners will discuss revisions to Chapter 62 of Walkersville Town Code concerning sinkholes. There has been a lot of concern about sinkholes and how they are to be handled. Glade Road Improvements

Improvements to Glade Road in Walkersville continued this week. The Burgess and Town Commissioners decided in January of 2013 to make improvements to the stretch of road leading to the Walkersville Southern Railroad tracks. Work began last month and has continued. Glade Road improvements include paving, installation of curb and gutter, and stormwater work. Despite Town policy, a sidewalk will not be installed along Glade Road.
