New Burgess and Town Commissioners Sworn In

The Town of Walkersville began a new chapter with a new Burgess and Town Commissioners Wednesday evening. Chad Weddle, who has served as a Town Commissioner for the past nineteen years, took the oath of office becoming Walkersville Burgess before a large crowd in Walkersville Town Hall. Mr. Weddle succeeds Ralph Whitmore, who served as Burgess for the past sixteen years. A new board of Town Commissioners were also sworn into office. Walkersville Holds Public Hearing on Crime

The Town of Walkersville held its regularly scheduled meeting last night with a public hearing on crime. The meeting room was packed with a full-house, an unusual occurrence (most meetings have an audience of less than ten residents). The Burgess and Town Commissioners quickly dealt with usual business. Food Bank Celebrating 25th Anniversary

The Glade Valley Food Bank will celebrate its 25th Anniversary with an Open House on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The Food Bank is located in the lower level of Walkersville Town Hall, 21 West Frederick Street.
