UPDATE: PNC Bank Offering $5000 Reward

On January 17, 2017, at approximately 1:00 P.M., a white male entered the PNC Bank located at 8 E. Main Street in Emmitsburg, MD. The suspect approached the teller, demanded cash and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was displayed or mentioned by the suspect. The suspect left in an unknown direction. Behavior of Middle School Students at Homecoming Game Prompt New Policies

The Administration at Walkersville High School and Walkersville Middle School shared a very important message regarding the behavior of middle school students at Varsity Football Games this morning. During the Homecoming Game this past Friday night, the school made an announcement at half-time addressing the behavior of the middle school students in attendance. Police Seek Help Identifying Shooting Suspect

On Saturday, October 17, 2015, at approximately 11:13 p.m., multiple gunshots were fired in the area of Discovery Boulevard and Stauffer Road. At the time, numerous people were leaving a party being held at the Discovery Recreation Center. Investigators are requesting assistance in identifying the individual, shown here, who is believed to have attended the party. Surveillance video footage indicates that this individual discharged shots from a handgun while near the playground area outside the recreation center. Walkersville Holds Public Hearing on Crime

The Town of Walkersville held its regularly scheduled meeting last night with a public hearing on crime. The meeting room was packed with a full-house, an unusual occurrence (most meetings have an audience of less than ten residents). The Burgess and Town Commissioners quickly dealt with usual business. Commissioner Chad Weddle’s proposal to codify the hours of Town Elections passed unanimously. Vandalism Costs More Than Aesthetics

The staff at the Walkersville Pharmacy arrived at work earlier this week to find the Coke machine in front of the pharmacy on its side and its power cord ripped out of the wall. This was the second time in about a month. A previous machine was bolted to the ground after vandals kept damaging the machine. The machine is owned by Coca-Cola, who told the pharmacy that the machine will probably not be replaced. “They can’t afford to keep fixing and replacing machines,” a pharmacy employee explained.
