Stolen Vehicle Recovered Followed By Foot Chase; Walkersville Resident Arrested

On Tuesday, July 16th, 2019 at approximately 7:40 a.m., a Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputy was traveling west on Schifferstadt Boulevard approaching the red light to East Church Street in Frederick when a white four-door Infiniti G53 sedan was observed approaching the intersection traveling north on East Church Street at a high rate of speed and stopping abruptly at the light. Walkersville and Oakdale Students Discover Asteroids

Two students in this year’s Frederick County Public Schools’ Asteroid Hunters program discovered asteroids never before catalogued and earned rights to name them! The only other schools in the U.S. with students achieving this honor are in Hawaii and Texas. The FCPS students are 11th grader Susanna Chen from Walkersville High and 10th grader Kaitlyn Murray from Oakdale High. “This is a REALLY big deal,” says Lisa Bruck, who co-directs the ESSL with Jeff Grills. Discovery Resident Arrested in Frederick with 87 Grams of Heroin

On October 29, 2016, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division conducted directed patrols in the area of Magnolia Tree Court and Burning Bush Drive in Frederick. The directed patrols were the result of the Sheriff’s Office receiving information pertaining to drug distribution in the area, as well as a shooting that occurred on October 28, 2016. Detectives with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office were investigating an early morning stabbing in Discovery that left a man in a hospital Monday.
