Search and Seizure Warrant Leads to Narcotics Arrest

On January 16th, 2019, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation Section, assisted by the Frederick Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Proactive Criminal Enforcement Team (P.A.C.E), executed a search and seizure warrant in the 5300 block of Regal Court in Frederick. The culmination of an investigation related to one individual led to the execution of four search warrants. Luther John Long, Jr., 61, of Walkersville, passed from this life on Monday, January 14 at his residence. He was the husband of Shelly Long. Born on July 4, 1957 in Reading, PA, he was the son of Violet (Guinther) Long Reber and the late Luther John Long, Sr. Mr. Long was a graduate of Reading High School, where he played trombone in the marching band. Narcotics Arrest

In September of 2018, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to a fatal overdose at a local hotel/motel in Frederick County. As a result of the fatal overdose, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation Section assisted with the investigation related to the circumstances of the overdose. The results of the autopsy, conducted by the Maryland Medical Examiner’s Office, revealed the cause of death was the result of Fentanyl and alcohol intoxication.
