On October 29, 2016, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division conducted directed patrols in the area of Magnolia Tree Court and Burning Bush Drive in Frederick. The directed patrols were the result of the Sheriff’s Office receiving information pertaining to drug distribution in the area, as well as a shooting that occurred on October 28, 2016.
During the directed patrol, deputies identified an apartment that was involved in the distribution of heroin. As a result, the Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Investigation Section was notified. During the course of the investigation a search warrant was obtained for an apartment in the 5700 block of Magnolia Tree Court. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team executed the search warrant at approximately 7:20 a.m. on October 30, 2016. Members of the Narcotics Investigation Section searched the apartment and located approximately 87 grams of heroin and items used to package and weigh the heroin.
Clarence A. Thieverage, residing in the 8500 block of Fortune Place in Discovery, was located inside the apartment during the execution of the search warrant. Clarence Thierverage was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Heroin, Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, and Possession of Heroin Large Amount. Clarence Thieverage also had an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear while Driving Suspended.
The amount of heroin seized during the search warrant had an estimated street value of $13,050.00. Approximately $804.00 in U.S. currency was seized during the execution of the warrant. This arrest was the result of the commitment of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office to proactively address the distribution of heroin in Frederick County. The arrest and search warrant was not related to the shooting on October 28, 2016.
The Frederick News Post has incorrectly reported that the drugs were seized in a Walkersville apartment. The only connection to Walkersville is the suspect’s mailing address in the Discovery development neighboring The Town of Walkersville.
