 1.  Tell our readers about yourself (family, education, employment, community involvement, etc.): I was raised by my grandparents and they instilled in me the importance of giving to one’s community. I have had the privilege of serving the Town of Walkersville as a Commissioner beginning in 1996, and was re-elected by the citizens 7 times, serving 8 terms as a commissioner. New Burgess and Town Commissioners Sworn In

The Town of Walkersville began a new chapter with a new Burgess and Town Commissioners Wednesday evening. Chad Weddle, who has served as a Town Commissioner for the past nineteen years, took the oath of office becoming Walkersville Burgess before a large crowd in Walkersville Town Hall. Mr. Weddle succeeds Ralph Whitmore, who served as Burgess for the past sixteen years. A new board of Town Commissioners were also sworn into office. Public Meeting on Crime in Walkersville

In response to discussions Commissioner Chad Weddle had as council and treasurer of Glade United Church of Christ, the Town Commissioners voted to invite the public to meet with the Town Commissioners and the Maryland State Police Resident Troopers at a meeting in August. Commissioner Weddle communicated with residents in his role with the church about some concerns with rental properties.
