Accident at West Crum Road and MD 194

At 2:41 p.m. on March 30, 2016, units from Walkersville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies dispatched for a vehicle collision at the intersection of MD Route 194 and West Crum Road. Chief 11-1 arrived on the scene to find a two vehicle collision with one patient still in a car and established command. Chief 11-1 advised Emergency Communications Center that a second patient required a second transport unit. More Blight, Trash and Traffic Discussions

The Walkersville Planning Commission will meet for its monthly public hearing on Tuesday night. Items on the agenda include a second request by Calvary Assembly of God to place a modular building on its property and a continuation of blight, vacancies, and trash in the Town of Walkersville. Last summer, Calvary Assembly of God requested approval to place a 1,410 square foot modular building on their property. Walkersville Supports MD 194 As Top Priority

After several weeks of discussion, the Town of Walkersville voted Wednesday night to support the county’s proposed annual transportation priorities which put MD 194 at the top of its list for secondary highways.  The issue first arose during a visit by County Executive Jan Gardner’s visit to a Walkersville Town Meeting earlier this year. MD 194 Widening Top Priority

The Frederick County Council discussed and reviewed county staff’s recommendations for Frederick County’s Annual Transportation Priorities. While many projects appear on the list, the widening of MD 194 to and through Walkersville drew much of the discussion. The staff proposed priorities under consideration listed the upgrade of MD 194 as the county’s number one priority for secondary highways for county.
