Fitzwater Defends Firefighters Arbitration & Negotiation Bill

This month I introduced a Council bill in support of our firefighters that I have been working on since the summer of 2019. I convened a stakeholder work group, including Stephen Jones, president of the career firefighter’s union, to provide input into the bill. County Council Seeks Individuals to Serve on Frederick County Charter Review Commission

The Frederick County Council is soliciting letters of interest and resumes from individuals to volunteer their time to serve on the new Frederick County Charter Review Commission. The Charter Review Commission will be authorized to review the provisions of this Charter and make recommendations as to the necessity for deleting, adding, or amending its contents. The Charter Review Commission will have up to 12 months to prepare any Charter recommendations for submission to the County Council.
