The day after a day long snow storm that dumped over ten inches of snow in some areas of Glade Valley brought temperatures that felt like spring time to many residents. The high temperature Sunday was more than forty degrees warmer than the low temperature on Saturday. After weeks of arctic temperatures, the near average temperatures felt balmy as everyone shoveled and plowed the snow that blanketed the area. Three groups from Glade Valley tried their recipes and muscles at the Annual Ag Week at the Mall Ice Cream Making Contest. The event had been postponed twice due to the nasty weather this week. What was to have taken place Monday evening, finally happened on Thursday evening. The turn-out was the contest’s largest ever. Kaleidoscope 4-H Club, Walkersville 4-H Club and Walkersville FFA each had teams present for the contest.
