Snow and Warmth
The day after a day long snow storm that dumped over ten inches of snow in some areas of Glade Valley brought temperatures that felt like spring time to many residents. The high temperature Sunday was more than forty degrees warmer than the low temperature on Saturday. After weeks of arctic temperatures, the near average temperatures felt balmy as everyone shoveled and plowed the snow that blanketed the area.
While children built snowmen and made snow angels, the rest of the community dug and dug.
Commerce Court in Walkersville, however, appears to have been missed by a plow. The street is maintained by the property management firm for the “business park,” and is not maintained by the Town of Walkersville, which always does an impeccable job of cleaning the streets after snowfall. So, be careful if you need some cash. The street was covered in snow and slush even as the temperatures brought many out of their coats and hats for the first time in weeks.
