Mill Run Development Moving Dirt

The developers of Mill Run, a planned development on West Pennsylvania Avenue in Walkersville, began the early stages of their project last week. Large equipment moved earth and crews blasted large stone. The entrance and future road to the neighborhood of twenty-six new single-family homes became apparent after a short few days. The property entrance lies between the home of the Quinn Family and the railroad station. Planning Commission Approves Parkside Development Plan

The initial site plan for Parkside on Biggs Ford Road was approved by the Walkersville Planning Commission last night. The vote came after the Planning Commission sent the developers to the Burgess and Town Commissioners for approval of certain aspects of their plans and approval to donate part of their land to the town for an addition to Walkersville Community Park. The Frederick News Post reports that Corporate Office Properties Trust withdrew its application to build on the forty acres which was recently annexed by the City of Frederick. Therefore, the meeting has been cancelled. The Staley Family of Walkersville will propose a site plan for four four-unit condominium buildings to the Walkersville Planning Commission on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.  Tuesday evening’s meeting will not be the first time for a proposal to the Planning Commission, but it will be the first time going as far as a site plan review.
