Walkersville Alumni Heading to NJCAA World Series

Frederick Community College’s Baseball Team will be heading to Enid, Oklahoma this week. The Cougars will play in the NJCAA College World Series. The roster includes Devin Bell and Vince Lodati, graduates of Walkersville High School. Ryan Kassab, another Walkersville High School alum, serves as the Cougar’s pitching coach. The Frederick Community College baseball team has ranked as high as second in the NJCAA Division II poll. They are currently not in the top twenty, but still receiving votes. Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner will hold a press conference at 3:00 p.m. today to introduce an Executive Order that will insure open and honest government and address fairness in the procurement process. Frederick County Government announced today that its Division of Utilities and Solid Waste Management will be transitioning to a new utility (water and sewer) billing system. Beginning July 1, 2015, customers will notice their water and sewer bills will have a new look. Businesses and resident need to be aware of a few changes that require action on their part. Customers will have a new account number format. The existing 999-###-### account number will remain, but a 6 digit customer ID number must be included on all payments or correspondence.
