Walkersville Audit Shows Strong Finances

The Town of Walkersville hired auditors to review its finances, and received the report from auditors Wednesday evening. Smith Elliot Kearns and Company, LLC audited the town’s records before presenting its report during the Walkersville Town Meeting. Revenue for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015 exceeded budgeted expectations by more than $550,000. Cash in the Town’s General Fund increased more than $630,000 compared to last year. Car Roll Over on U.S. 15

At 7:59 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2015, Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company, Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company, and Lewistown Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched for a vehicle accident with roll over at U.S. 15 and Old Frederick RD. BC902 arrived on the scene with an updated location of the crash, U.S. 15 and Sundays Lane. BC902 reported one car rolled over and a patient out of the vehicle. Frederick County Council Has New Offices and Phone Number

The Frederick County Council has a new telephone number; the number is 301-600-1135. The new phone number is a result of the renovations in Winchester Hall. The Frederick County Council has moved from the third floor to the first floor of Winchester Hall. This will allow for more convenient public access to the Council offices. Behavior of Middle School Students at Homecoming Game Prompt New Policies

The Administration at Walkersville High School and Walkersville Middle School shared a very important message regarding the behavior of middle school students at Varsity Football Games this morning. During the Homecoming Game this past Friday night, the school made an announcement at half-time addressing the behavior of the middle school students in attendance.
