Walkersville Man Killed in Collision on I-70

On Sunday, September 3, 2017 at approximately 6:46 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on I-70 E/B at the 66 Mile Marker, New Market, Frederick County, MD. Preliminary investigation revealed a 2007 Ford F-350 was traveling eastbound on I-70 at the 66 Mile Marker when the operator for unknown reasons lost control of the vehicle, went off the south side of the roadway and struck a tree. Geraldine “Gerry” Virginia Ramsburg, 85, of Walkersville,MD passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Glade Valley Center in Walkersville. She was the beloved wife of the late James Ramsburg. Born April 6, 1932 in Walkersville, MD she was the daughter of the late Murray Monroe and Viola C. Wachter Craver. Gerry was a 1951 graduate of Walkersville High School where she captained many of the schools sports teams. Walkersville High School to Offer Every Student a Chromebook

Walkersville High School announced today that it will offer Chromebooks to every student beginning in October of this year. Over the next week a sequence of information will be sent out through Find Out First, The Parent Pipeline, First Day take home paperwork, and on the WHS Website. A gang of thieving and harassing males continues to terrorize Old Town Walkerville. They steal vegetables, harass local females, and disturb the peace at all hours with their crowing about town. The gang of roosters has been an issue for weeks now. Frederick County Animal Control responded a few weeks ago, but could only catch a few of the mischievous cocks.
