Police were in a high speed pursuit through Walkersville and the surrounding area Friday night. The pursuit blasted through Old Town Walkersville on Pennsylvania Avenue up Biggs Ford. The driver took Fountain Rock Road to MD 194 and MD 26. Once in Frederick, he took 15 North to Old Frederick Road. He continued through Creagerstown and toward Thurmont. Murder Suspect Arrested in Walkersville

The Frederick Police Department arrested a suspect in Walkersville in the murder investigation of Mr. Brandon Brown. Mr. Brown was murdered on June 13, 2015 at approximately 5:12 pm as he was selling ice cream for the “Big Daddy Ice Cream” truck, in the 400 block of Vermont Court Frederick, Maryland. Detectives have worked nonstop, and quickly identified a suspect through information and witness accounts. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office handled several abduction scams this week. Several victims reported that an individual called claiming to have been in an accident with someone related to them. The scammer claimed they were illegal immigrants and did not want to go to the hospital or involve the police. The scammers then claimed they were holding the victim’s relative hostage until money was wired to the scammer. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has received multiple fraud calls today for similar frauds/scams. Several victims reported that an individual called claiming to have been in an accident with someone related to them or a friend.
