Transit Summer Freedom Pass

TransIT Services of Frederick County’s annual “Summer Freedom Pass” allows youth ages 13-22 to ride all Connector and shuttle buses for one $15 fee from June 1- August 31. This provides access for students to summer jobs, the mall, pool, movies, friends’ houses, and more. The pass is a $75 savings, and TransIT has extended the age to 22 to reach collegiate-aged students. Also new this year, students will be able to purchase, activate and use the Summer Freedom Pass directly from their smart phones! Accident on Liberty Road

Walkersville emergency crews from Company 11 and Company 24 were dispatched to the 9200 block of Liberty Road for a vehicle accident at 1:24 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19 2015. While en-route, Frederick County Emergency Communications Center advised Chief 11-1 that a second ambulance was dispatched due to multiple patients. Chief 11-1 arrived on the scene to find two vehicles had been involved in a rear-end collision. Patients were still in one car. Ambulance 248 arrived on the scene and started patient care. First Executive Order in Frederick County

Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner issued her first executive order today. Marking the first executive order in Frederick County government, Mrs. Gardner held a press conference to explain her action and the impact of the executive order.
