Walkersville Lions Win Season Opener
The Walkersville Lions started their 2016 season with a huge win over Governor Thomas Johnson High School. In front of a packed stadium, the Lions put 29 points on the score board to the Patriots’ 8 points.
The Lions quickly scored a touchdown in the first half. That was followed by a safety. After a failed field goal, the Lions scored another touch down.
The Patriots could not seem to move down the field for most of the game. In the fourth quarter, they finally scored a touchdown followed by a two-point conversion.
The Lions responded with a touchdown, but failed to get the extra point. The Patriots came very close to another touchdown, but the Lions held their ground just yards from the goal line.
With a final touchdown and an extra point, the Lions closed out their first game victorious.
