Walkers Overlook Re-Submits Plans in Walkersville To Keep Operating

The Walkersville Planning and Zoning Commission met for its monthly hearing Tuesday night, March 28, 2017. After re-electing officers to their respective positions, two issues dominated the hearing that lasted an unusual two and a half hours. The first was Walkers Overlook. Walkers Overlook came before the Planning Commission to address its failures to meet several requirements of its conditional approval six years ago. Walkersville Library Groundbreaking Ceremony

Pictures by Kate Kuster Town of Walkersville, County, and Library officials broke ground on Walkersville’s new library Monday afternoon. A large crowd gathered to witness the event and cheer the long awaited library. The ceremony began with a flag ceremony performed by the Cub Scout Pack 1070. Walkersville High School’s band performed The Star Spangled Banner and On Wisconsin. Director of Frederick County Public Libraries, Darrel Batson noted that discussions for replacing the Walkersville Library have been ongoing since before his tenure in the late 1990’s. Mill Run Development Progressing

Walkersville Man Arrested for Possession of PCP and Fake Cocaine

On February 28, 2017, at approximately 10:52 PM, The Frederick Police Department received a report of a shooting that had occurred in the 1300 block of Motter Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located two males that matched the descriptions given by the caller. Upon further investigation, officers determined that no shooting had taken place.
