Shooting Victim’s Condition Upgraded

Gerald Campbell, the Goodwill security guard shot multiple times Thursday night, remains at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore. His condition has been upgraded to “serious” according to Chris Lindsey of the University of Maryland Medical Center Public Affairs.

According to the HIPAA Updated Guidelines for Releasing Information on the Condition of Patients (provided by the American Hospital Association), Serious condition means that the patient’s vital signs may be unstable and not within normal limits; Patient is acutely ill; Indicators are questionable. In contrast, critical condition means vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits; Patient may be unconscious; Indicators are unfavorable.

Police are still searching for the assailant, and seeking the public’s help by asking anyone with information relevant to the investigation to call the Frederick Barrack at 301-600-4151. Callers can remain anonymous.
