Holiday Toy Shoppe

Glade Valley Community Services’ Holiday Toy Shoppe is gearing up again this year to help provide a wonderful Christmas to many less fortunate children in our community. Last year the Holiday Toy Shoppe provided new clothes, shoes, toys and books to 171 children and gift cards and books to 77 teens. This program is supported by the generosity of the churches, schools, businesses and individuals in our community. Food Drive Organized by Glade Valley Boy Scouts

The Walkersville/Woodsboro/Mt. Pleasant area Boy Scout annual Scouting for Food drive is happening now! The scouts left empty food bags on front doors throughout the area on Saturday, November 7. Residents are urged to place the bags filled with non-perishable food outside their doors on Saturday, November 14, 2015 by 9:00 a.m. for pickup. As Glade Valley is a growing area, there are not enough Scouts to cover all neighborhoods. Walkersville Community Mourns Loss and Prays

The Walkersville Community is reeling from a terrible accident yesterday afternoon. Walkersville High School graduates Christian Thomason and Tyler Holland were in the single vehicle accident along with Jared Spangler of Reisterstown. Mr. Thomason did not survive the accident. Maryland State Police report that he was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. Tyler Holland, one of the two passengers flown to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, is in the Intensive Care Unit at the Trauma Center. This evening, medical staff listed his condition as…
