On January 25th, 2019, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office detectives were conducting surveillance on two repeat offender theft suspects. Pawn and scrap records indicated that the suspects were likely involved with thefts in the regional area. Suspects Charged in Waterside LetGo App Theft Series

On January 21st, 2019, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office detectives charged an adult male and juvenile male in a string of thefts involving the popular buy-and-sell app, LetGo. From August through October of 2018, Frederick County Sheriff’s deputies took 3 theft reports in which the victims were attempting to purchase cell phones using the LetGo app. The victims arranged to meet the seller in the Waterside community to make the transaction. On January 16th, 2019, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation Section, assisted by the Frederick Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Proactive Criminal Enforcement Team (P.A.C.E), executed a search and seizure warrant in the 5300 block of Regal Court in Frederick. The culmination of an investigation related to one individual led to the execution of four search warrants. In September of 2018, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to a fatal overdose at a local hotel/motel in Frederick County. As a result of the fatal overdose, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation Section assisted with the investigation related to the circumstances of the overdose. The results of the autopsy, conducted by the Maryland Medical Examiner’s Office, revealed the cause of death was the result of Fentanyl and alcohol intoxication.
