In September of 2018, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to a fatal overdose at a local hotel/motel in Frederick County. As a result of the fatal overdose, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation Section assisted with the investigation related to the circumstances of the overdose. The results of the autopsy, conducted by the Maryland Medical Examiner’s Office, revealed the cause of death was the result of Fentanyl and alcohol intoxication.
During the course of the investigation, detectives with the Narcotics Investigation Section identified a suspect who was responsible for selling the victim Fentanyl. Through investigative techniques, interviews, and consultation with the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office, the suspect was indicted. On January 15th, 2019, Anthony Dale Davidson, 26, of Frederick, was arrested on the outstanding warrant related to his indictment. Davidson was indicted on the following charges:
- Distribution of Fentanyl
- Possession with intent to distribute Fentanyl
- Possession with intent to distribute Fentanyl mix
- Possession of Fentanyl
