Reward Offered in Shooting

  TROOPERS SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN WALKERSVILLE SHOOTING Maryland State Police investigators continue seeking help from citizens who may have information about the shooting of a Frederick man found injured in his car. Gerald Campbell, 42, of Frederick, Md., was found shot at about 9:30 p.m. on January 22, 2015. Campbell was found in a silver Hyundai Tiburon, parked behind a retail store in the 8000-block of Woodsboro Pike in Walkersville, minutes after troopers had been dispatched there in response to a report of shots fired. Walkersville Talks Business, Trash, and Crime

The Town of Walkersville’s Burgess and Town Commissioners met last night. After voting to support Frederick County’s Annual Road Priorities which places MD 194 as its top priority for secondary highways, trash and crime took up a lot of the discussions. Walkersville Supports MD 194 As Top Priority

After several weeks of discussion, the Town of Walkersville voted Wednesday night to support the county’s proposed annual transportation priorities which put MD 194 at the top of its list for secondary highways.  The issue first arose during a visit by County Executive Jan Gardner’s visit to a Walkersville Town Meeting earlier this year. Theft at Walkers Village Center

Maryland State Police seek the help of the public to identify a suspect in a string of thefts that occured last week. During the week of March 16, 2015, employees of Safeway in the Walker’s Village Center experienced theft from their vehicles. In the two reported cases, the suspect, a woman shown in the pictures below, stole keys from the employees coats or purses and accessed their vehicles. Vacant Properties and Blight in Walkersville

The Walkersville Planning Commission spent a considerable portion of their public hearing last night discussing two proposed ordinances from the Town’s Economic Development Commission. Town Commissioner Russ Winch, representative on both commissions, explained that Burgess Ralph Whitmore wants this to be a priority. The Burgess and Town Commissioners assigned the EDC to develop and ordinance, and the proposal was then sent to the Planning Commission.
