Walkersville High School added yet another great theatrical performance to the list. October 27th through the 31st, WHS theatre is performing Dracula. A scary, fun, interactive experience will definitely have you on the edge of your seat!

While Dracula seems to be a common vampire story, the students and staff at Walkersville High made it a once in a lifetime opportunity. Starting from the very beginning, cast members were already in character. As soon as you step foot into the tunnel of spider webs and fog, inmates began to wonder all around. Without breaking character once, each individual would walk around in a spooky manner, already giving off a mysterious vibe. Once the play started, the fun began!

“I liked how interactive it was. It honestly was scary in a sense of you didn’t know what was going to happen next. You knew something was going to happen, you just didn’t know what. I thought it was very well executed,” said junior Mikaela Miller.

The show had many different components, including a short musical lullaby. “I loved everything about the show. I thought the acting was very amazing and I loved when Dierdre did the singing because she has a beautiful voice. My favorite part was anything that had Olivia Ruth in it — she was hilarious,” stated junior Cameron Maxey.

As an audience member, you view things very differently. Senior Cody Strange (the monster) said, “All of our actors did really well; they knew all of their lines. Everything went good, but there is always little things that actors pick up on that we stress about while the audience does not know. My favorite scene the graveyard fight scene. It was really intense.”

One of the members of the tech crew Cian Pickrom stated, “It went alright besides minor things that we have to fix technically, such as cues. My favorite scenes are the gory scenes since I do the makeup.”

Walkersville High School theatre did a fantastic job with performing Dracula. Not only was is spooky, but funny as well. Be sure to stop by and see it if you have not already!
