Seniors Celebrated on Walkersville Volleyball Night

Walkersville Volleyball had their senior night game on October 25th. Overall the Walkersville Varsity team has five seniors on their team. They played against Century and lost all three games. “We had a little bit of troubles getting our passes up, but it wasn’t our worst game and we still played well overall,” said senior Taylor Stair.

The varsity Walkersville volleyball team’s record is 2-12. They have not won many games this season but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t putting in the hard work and dedication. They have practice all throughout the week and are always working to defeat their upcoming competition.

The seniors are very proud of their team throughout this season. During their senior night they had a ceremony to congratulate the seniors and everyone was welcome to come. The underclassman on the team and the moms also worked together to put together posters of the seniors with their volleyball picture on it and other pictures. They only have five seniors on the team so the varsity team is made up more of underclassman.

“The seniors have helped all of the team members throughout this season and everyone has worked hard” said junior Autumn Parson. The team is always working together and playing the hardest that they can. Every game they have, all three matches they play like it’s their last game. They are constantly giving it their all and making sure that it shows. “It’s my last year and I’m very sad that I will not be playing with my teammates anymore, I will definitely miss it,” said senior Elaina Frederick.

The volleyball games are definitely ones to go see. Anyone is welcome to go and they encourage you to. The JV and Varsity teams play on the same night but different times. The JV plays first and Varsity follows. They have playoffs next and are definitely worth the watch.
