Walkersville Woman Dies in Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

At approximately 3:47 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, a Trooper from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack responded to the intersection of north-bound U.S. 15 and Angleberger Road for a two vehicle collision with injuries. The on-scene investigation revealed that a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt had been was stopped at the intersection of west-bound Angleberger Road at U.S. 15. Doris Janet Kinnamont, 80, of Walkersville, Maryland, was the sole occupant and operator of the Cobalt. Walkersville Re-Elects Incumbents and Four New Commissioners

Residents of the Town of Walkersville re-elected Burgess Chad Weddle and Commissioner Mary Ann Brodie-Ennis in the Town’s triennial elections Monday, September 10, 2018. Chad Weddle was first elected Commissioner in 1996, and elected Burgess in 2015. This will be Mr. Weddle’s second term as Burgess. Mary Ann Brodie-Ennis is currently serving her first term as Town Commissioner after being elected in 2015. Walkersville Candidates’ Forum Lets Citizens Hear from Candidates

The Town of Walkersville hosted a Candidates’ Forum last night at Town Hall. Candidates for Walkersville Burgess and Town Commissioners were all invited. All three of the Burgess candidates and ten of the eleven candidates for Town Commissioner participated; Burgess Candidate Russ Winch participated remotely, and Commissioner Candidate John Zimmerman could not attend. A crowd of approximately 100 citizens listened to each candidate give their five minute stump speech and ask for their vote in Monday’s election.
