At approximately 3:47 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, a Trooper from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack responded to the intersection of north-bound U.S. 15 and Angleberger Road for a two vehicle collision with injuries.
The on-scene investigation revealed that a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt had been was stopped at the intersection of west-bound Angleberger Road at U.S. 15. Doris Janet Kinnamont, 80, of Walkersville, Maryland, was the sole occupant and operator of the Cobalt. A 2004 Dodge Ram pick-up truck was traveling northbound on U.S. 15 approaching Angleberger Road in lane number one. Jacob lee Hanvey, 23, of Emmitsburg, MD, was the operator and sole occupant of the Ram.
Investigators determined that Ms. Kinnamont failed to yield the right of way to the pick-up truck and attempted to cross the north-bound lanes of Rt 15 from Angleberger Road. The Dodge Ram pick-up truck the Chevrolet Cobalt on the driver’s door as the pick-up continued north-bound on U.S. 15.
Doris Janet Kinnamont was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Mr. Hanvey was transported, by ambulance, to Frederick Memorial Hospital with non- life threatening injuries.
