Walkersville Elementary Principal Tess Blumenthal is Frederick County’s winner of the 2015 Distinguished Educational Leadership Award (DELA). The Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) selection committee chose Principal Blumenthal for her excellent leadership and strong commitment to creating an exceptional educational environment. Frederick County Public Schools will host the 34th Annual Elementary Science and Engineering Fair at Walkersville High, the secondary portion for grades 6-12 at Walkersville Middle and the 2nd annual elementary Social Studies Fair at Walkersville Elementary. All are open free to the public Saturday, March 21.

Star Reader Family Reading Night

Come one, come all to Walkersville Elementary School’s next Star Reader Family Reading Night on Tuesday, February 10th from 6:30pm to 7:00pm. This month the Star Readers are 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Pickett and Hood Intern, Ms. Burda. Come to Walkersville Public Library to listen to a story and participate in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activity related to the story with your family.
