Volunteers and community members gathered to honor Peg and Orley Bourland and Gloria Werking, members of the organizing committee in 1990, who were present at the Open House. Read MoreA fatal vehicle collision on Crum Road in Walkersville brought electric lines down, caused a rollover and vehicle fire, and brought two Maryland State Police helicopters into Walkersville to transport patients to trauma centers. Christian Thomason, the nineteen year old driver of the single car involved, was pronounced dead on the scene. Mr. Thomason was a 2015 graduate of Walkersville High School.
