A fatal vehicle collision on Crum Road in Walkersville brought electric lines down, caused a rollover and vehicle fire, and brought two Maryland State Police helicopters into Walkersville to transport patients to trauma centers.

Christian Thomason, the nineteen year old driver of the single car involved, was pronounced dead on the scene. Mr. Thomason was a 2015 graduate of Walkersville High School.

Maryland State Police say that high speeds caused Thomason to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle went up an embankment sideways crashing into a telephone pole. The car rolled several times before landing on its roof.

Two passengers, Tyler Holland, aged seventeen years, of Walkersville, and Jared Spangler, aged eighteen years, of Reisterstown, were flown by Maryland State Police’s Trooper 1 and Trooper 3 to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.

Mr. Holland, a 2015 graduate of Walkersville High School, is in the Intensive Care Unit listed as critical, but stable condition Monday evening. Mr. Spangler is listed in serious condition Monday evening.
