Ethics Task Force Presents Recommendations in Final Report to County Executive The Ethics Task Force, appointed by County Executive Jan Gardner in February 2015, completed its work tonight with a series of recommendations for changes to the Ethics Ordinance, state law and processes and procedures. First Executive Order in Frederick County

Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner issued her first executive order today. Marking the first executive order in Frederick County government, Mrs. Gardner held a press conference to explain her action and the impact of the executive order. Executive and Council President Disagree with Ethics Commission

Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner and County Council President Bud Otis sent correspondence to the Frederick County Ethics Commission expressing their “strong disagreement” regarding the May 12, 2015, Ethics Commission Opinion (No. 15-01) permitting an elected County Council Member’s private business to bid and perform work on Frederick County Governmental capital improvements projects or contracts. According to the opinion, an un-named county council member requested an opinion from the Ethics Commission.
