Roll-Over Requires Medivac
On June 7th at 8:21 p.m., Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company (Co.24) and Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company (Co.11) were dispatched to 9736 Glade Road and Devilbliss Bridge Road for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.
Chief 11 arrived on scene and established command. One car was located off the road and in a corn field. One patient was trapped in the vehicle, and one patient was out of the vehicle.
Ambulance 248 arrived on the scene and provided patient care. Enginge 111 arrived on the scene and checked for leaking fluid and stabilizing the car. Medic 17 arrived on scene and assisted with patient care.
Rescue Squad 24 and Chief 24 arrived on the scene. They began patient extrication by removing the doors and roof of the vehicle.
Command requested Trooper 3 due to mechanism and a second Basic Life Support for a second patient. The passenger was then flown to Shock Trauma and the driver was transported by ground to Frederick Memorial Hospital. Command was then terminated at 9:00 p.m.
