Last Night of Prep for Walkersville Days

Local, Award-Winning Country Music from Mike Kuster

Local churches, homeowners, businesses, and organizations are abuzz this evening as they prepare for Walkersville Days! People flock to Walkersville each third Saturday of March to celebrate the small town by shopping yard sales, sampling treats, and seeing all the sights.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church’s Strawberry Festival is a big draw with strawberry shortcake, hotdogs, live bluegrass music, and more. All the proceeds support the church at the corner of Fulton Avenue and West Pennsylvania Avenue.

Glade United Church of Christ will offer breakfast, lunch, and a bake table for the thousands of deal seekers.

Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company invite the public to visit their station for an open house. Their open house will include special guests from Maryland State Police, MSP blood hound, State Highway “CHART” Team, and Frederick County Sheriff Office K9 unit. The FCSO K9 will be doing a demonstration at noon. All of the WVFC equipment will be on display. Frederick County Fire Prevention and “Gear Up” personnel will be on hand. “Have you ever used a fire extinguisher? You have a chance to at the Open House!” Food will be available.

St. Timothy’s Catholic Church will hold a yard sale on Biggs Ford Road.

Lyons Den Pictures will host an Open House Grand Opening at its studios at 21 West Pennsylvania Avenue.

Glade Valley Community Services will be selling Pit Beef from a stand in the Red Cross parking lot to support its many wonderful community programs.

Friends of the Walkersville Library will hold a book sale at the Walkersville Library on East Frederick Street.
