House Fire In Lewistown
Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company Reports:
At 4:52 a.m. on March 31, 2015, Frederick County Emergency Communications Center woke emergency responders from around the region. A reported House fire brought surrounding companies to Lewistown to find a a single story rancher consumed with heavy fire.
Crews arrived on the scene at Hessong Bridge Road and confirmed dispatch. Command then requested the Rapid Intervention Team to be dispatched, which brought Walkersville Volunteer Resecue Company’s Heavy Duty Rescue, A247, to the scene. A248, also from Walkersville, arrived on the scene and established rehabilitation. Upon arrival of A247, the crew assisted A248 with rehab.
Walkersville Volunter Fire Company’s Engine Tanker 114 arrived on scene and established water supply. Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company’s Quint 11 arrived on scene and assisted with fire attack.
The road was closed and Potomac Edison was called to the scene.
Command began releasing tankers around 8:30 a.m., but the majority of crews were not released until 10:20 a.m.
