Cornish Memorial Fund Established to Support Gardening and Local Produce

The Community Foundation of Frederick County announces The Mary Gregg Cornish Memorial Fund. Established by husband Dr. Edwin R. Cornish, Jr., it becomes one of more than 700 funds under management.

With the fund, Dr. Cornish is honoring his wife’s love of gardening. Grants from the fund will support community gardens, including educational activities that promote gardening and the nutritional value of using local produce. Grants will also help expand library collections related to gardening, assist in beautifying public spaces with plants and flowers, and encourage youth to become involved with gardening.

Memorial funds are one of the many ways The Community Foundation of Frederick County transforms the unique charitable dreams of individuals, families and organizations into the reality of charitable funds supporting a range of worthy causes.
