Cornish Memorial Fund Established to Support Gardening and Local Produce

The Community Foundation of Frederick County announces The Mary Gregg Cornish Memorial Fund. Established by husband Dr. Edwin R. Cornish, Jr., it becomes one of more than 700 funds under management. With the fund, Dr. Cornish is honoring his wife’s love of gardening. Grants from the fund will support community gardens, including educational activities that promote gardening and the nutritional value of using local produce. Hogan Memorial Fund Established

To honor lives well-lived, The Robert J. and George J. Hogan, Jr. Memorial Fund has been established at The Community Foundation of Frederick County and becomes one of more than 720 funds under management. The fund was established with a bequest from Irene Hogan’s estate in memory of her husband George and son Robert. Scholarships and grants from the fund will assist students studying and pursuing careers in the construction trades at Frederick Community College.
