To ensure efficient organization and management of Frederick County Government, County Executive Jan Gardner today announced supervisory changes that her Transition Team identified as a way to assist Chief Administrative Officer Doug Browning in his oversight of county divisions. Effective July 1, 2015, former Special Projects Manager Margaret Nusbaum has assumed responsibility for the supervision of the Animal Control Division, Citizens Services Division and the Office of Economic Development, and will act as the liaison to Frederick County Public Libraries, the Health Department and the Social Services Department. As units were lined up and ready for the Walkersville Homeotown parade to start on June 30, 2015, Walkersville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies units were dispatched to MD 194 and West Frederick Street for a vehicle accident. Dispatch reported one car on its side. Chief 11 arrived on the scene to confirm dispatch. Two vehicles were involved with one on its side. Two patients were found still in the car. Reagan Years and Last Ride All Night Special

The Reagan Years will entertain crowds at the Walkersville Carnival tonight. The popular band always draws a large crowd and puts on a great show. Tonight’s All-You-Can-Eat Buffet will feature Fried Chicken, Ham, & Roast Turkey. The buffet is served in the air-conditioned and handicapped accessible fire hall from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tonight will also be the last Ride-All-Night Wristband Special from 6:00 – 10:30 p.m. Another $300 Raffle Drawing will be held on the grounds. Accident Near Stauffer Road on 194

At 7:33 p.m. on June 29, 2015, Walkersville Volunteer Rescue and Fire Companies (Co.24 & Co.11, respectfully) were dispatched to MD 194 & Stuaffer Road for a vehicle accident. Cheif 11 arrived on the scene to find two vehicles involved in a rear-end accident and still in the roadway. All patients were out of their cars. Storms Fail to Dampen Carnival and Parade

Last night’s rain failed to dampen the Hometown Parade and Carnival activities in Walkersville! Though an accident on MD 194 delayed the parade, everyone enjoyed the parade filled with emergency equipment, community groups, businesses, and horses! Folks along the parade route collected candy, got squirted by the Kaleidoscope 4-H Club’s pool float, and cheered on the bands and dance troupes. Afterward, City Slickers Band took to the stage and entertained the crowds with a variety of music as they rode rides, played games, and dined on the many food choices!…
