County Executive Jan Gardner unveiled a billboard last week that illustrates the sobering impact of the heroin and opioid epidemic that has destroyed lives in Frederick County and across the nation. In Maryland, more people are dying from overdoses than are killed in car accidents or by homicide. Frederick County Public Schools Address Netflix Series “13 Reasons Why”

There is a Netflix series trending, based on a novel written for young adults, called 13 Reasons Why. The series revolves around a fictional 17-year-old girl who made audio tapes explaining what each person in her circle has done to hurt her before she takes her own life. The series graphically depicts the themes of bullying, rape and suicide as well as consequences of teens who are bystanders and do not take action to address such situations. Tractor Trailer Rollover

At 12:54 hours Co.24 and Co.11 were dispatched to Devilbliss Bridge Rd and Dublin Rd. for a tractor trailer rollover with entrapment. A247 arrived on scene in the area of the intersection to find a tractor trailer on it’s side. C24-2 arrived on scene and established command. A247 advised command that the patient had self extricated and no entrapment. RS2 arrived on scene, as RS24 is out of service. RS2 assisted with clean-up. E111 arrived on scene and provided traffic control and clean-up. Patient refused care and command was terminated and units went in service at 13:57 hours.
