Tailgate Theft Series
Since mid-February the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has taken 13 reports of tailgate thefts from late model Ford Super Duty Pickup trucks in the Bartonsville, Ijamsville, Monrovia, Mount Pleasant and Mount Airy areas of Frederick County.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has handled multiple reports of abduction scams in the past week. The victims received calls from an individual claiming to have the victim’s relative and that if money is not sent, they will kill them. The Sheriff’s Office is advising citizens not to answer calls from unknown phone numbers and to never wire money to someone they don’t know. Walkersville Man Arrested for Possession of PCP and Fake Cocaine
On February 28, 2017, at approximately 10:52 PM, The Frederick Police Department received a report of a shooting that had occurred in the 1300 block of Motter Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located two males that matched the descriptions given by the caller. Upon further investigation, officers determined that no shooting had taken place.
