As Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company units were clearing from the EMS task force call in the City of Frederick on February 24, 2016, units were dispatched at 8:39 p.m. for a vehicle stuck in flood waters in the 10900 block of Gas House Pike. Chief 11-1 arrived on the scene. He confirmed that one car was in the water and a patient was still in the car and established command. At 7:17 p.m. on February 24, 2016, Walkersville Volunteer Volunteer Rescue Company was dispatched for Emergency Medical Services task force at 200 East Sixteenth Street in Frederick, Maryland. Emergency Communications alerted Walkersville for two ambulances to assist st a nursing home facility due to a HAZMAT situation. Ambulances 247 and 249 both arrived on the scene and reported to the staging area as directed by command.
