Walkersville Middle School Events

WMSlogoWalkersville Middle School is getting ready for the start of a new school year. Student events for the new school year begin this coming week when school administrators and counselors will greet students as they return for an open house. New students will be able to explore the school. All students will pick-up their schedules, purchase locks, and more (see below).

On Wednesday, August 12, 2015, parents of incoming sixth grade students are inivited to a “Coffee Chat” in the media center. The session will provide an overview for incoming sixth grade students. There will be a question and answer session.

On August 19, 2015, Walkersville Middle School will host its annual Back to School Night. Parents and students will be able to meet teachers, administrators, and counselors.

Grades 6,7,8: Open House – August 11 from 8:30 am – 11:30 am and 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm.

  • Pick up schedule, informally tour our building, purchase locks & planners, put money on WMS cafeteria account, sign up for PTSA, get club information, etc. (Teachers are not back to school yet)
  • Optional WMS presentation in the cafeteria for general information. (1st session at 10:00 am. 2nd session at 4:30 pm.)
  •  Administration & Counselors will be available to meet with you if you have questions. For a guaranteed time slot, please contact us for an appointment.
  • For those unable to attend our Open House, schedules will be mailed on August 12.
  •  No schedules will be available prior to August 11.

For our incoming 6th grade parents:
  •  Coffee Chat – August 12 from 1 – 2 pm in the WMS Media Center
  • This session will provide an overview for our incoming 6th grade students. There will be a question/answer session near the end of each session.

Grades 6,7,8: WMS Back to School Night – August 19 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.

  • Come informally tour our building, meet your child’s teachers, sign up for PTSA, see club opportunities, put money on your child’s lunch account, purchase planners & locks, and ask questions.
  •  Please bring your child’s schedule with you. Maps will be available when you arrive in the building.
  • Optional WMS presentation in the cafeteria at 6:30 for more information on FAQ’s and general information.
  •  Administration & Counselors will be available. Please call for an appointment if you would like a specific meeting time.
