Walkersville Historical Society Christkindlmarket
Historic Walkersville Festive Christkindlmarket
Saturday, December 1, 2018
12pm to 6pm
Walkersville celebrates the holiday season that showcases the town’s rich German history. Carolers and musicians bring the festive spirit alive as they stroll the quaint streets dressed in holiday splendor.
Three historic Walkersville churches, Glade UCC, St. Paul’s Lutheran, and Walkersville United Methodist will host artisans and crafters in their social halls. Each church will offer homemade food and fresh baked goodies for sale.
Walkersville Historical Society will bring Old Jolly St. Nick to town, to greet visitors and share in the holiday festivities.
The Walkersville Library has arranged a visit from Mrs. Claus, to read a special holiday story with the youngsters.
Illumining Old Town – 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
As darkness begins to fall, The Girl and Cub Scouts illuminate the streets. Upon the hour of 5 p.m., the streets will glow, church bells will ring, and together we will usher in the holiday season, lighting a wreath and singing a holiday song.
