Vehicle Collision at MD 26 & Monnocacy River

Walkersville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies responded to a motor vehicle collision at 6:07 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at MD 26 and Monocacy River. While units were en-route, Engine Tanker 114 advised Emergency Communications Center that there was another accident in the area of the Calvary Assembly Church on Woodsboro Pike, and advised the rescue squad to check on that, then proceed if no assistance was needed.

Engine Tanker 114 arrived on the scene to find a two-car rear-end collision in the east bound lanes of the bridge spanning the Monocacy River. The crew established command, advised ECC that they had multiple patients, and requested two more ambulances.

Ambulance 247 arrived on the scene to start with patient care. The crew from Engine Tanker 114 checked the cars for leaking fluids, and assisted helping with the patient care.

Ambulance 28 and Ambluance 38 arrived on the scene shortly after and assisted with other patients.

Five patients was transported and units went in service as ready and command was terminated.
