The Walkersville Planning Commission is beginning the process of updating the Town’s Comprehensive Plan (last adopted in 2011). The Plan is a statement of the vision for the Town’s future.
An official document, the Comprehensive Plan provides direction for public decisions regarding land use, development, zoning, infrastructure, transportation, water resources, community facilities and services, capital improvements, and municipal growth.
As part of its preparations to update the plan, the Planning Commission seeks public input through a community survey, and a series of public meetings that will be held over the next eighteen months.
The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6NGRLMC.
This survey can be completed by anyone living in the Walkersville area, whether you live within Town limits or not.
Paper surveys are available for those who do not wish to complete the survey online. Those choosing to submit the survey on paper instead of electronically are asked to return it to Town Hall by June 30, 2020. Surveys may be mailed to P.O. Box 249, Walkersville, MD 21793, or drop in the letter box built into the wall by the front door of Town Hall.
Additional comments can be sent directly to Walkersville’s Town Planner, Susan Hauver by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
